It doesn’t take long for anyone looking at our herd to realize that SG Old Mountain Farm Cernunnos is the common thread to nearly all of our stock. He is a consistent throughpoint in all of our does who excel in dairy strength, depth of body and production (a.k.a. show quality). This means I spend a great deal of time looking at his (many) progeny, grand and great grand progeny. In a query of his outstanding son, Rockstar Ranch Paint it Black, I came upon a breeding to an Old Mountain Farm Mizuki daughter that excited me. Mizuki is granddam to one of the most phenomenal milkers ever to set hoof on our farm (SG Oak Apple Sing, who earned her AR milk star, hit the ELITE list and earned her SG in ~4-5 milk tests as a FF) and our Oak Apple Layla VEEV88 who has seriously worked her way up the ranks to top of the herd in the show ring and produced Junior Grandchampion/phenom Oak Apple Bedtime Story. Every doe in this line has a beautifully attached, highly productive udder with excellent teat placement. When we realized Shadow was available he was too good to pass up. We are VERY excited to pair him with our Cernunnos and Mizuki great grandkids for 2024 kids.
