It was a long quest to find new blood to bring into the herd that would build upon all the work we’ve done. Specifically, I was looking at the sons of Sugar Moon NS Ezekiel, tracking down the herds where every single one lived and looking at their planned pairings. I was delighted to learn that Amethyst Acres Belle-Fiorello (Sugar Moon NS Ezekiel x Sugar Moon F Belle Fleur) was owned by none other than Cade Cockburn, Cade’s Lil Farm, one of our top breeders in the Nigerian Dwarf breed whose been making quite the name for himself the past couple of years (his doe, SGCH Cade’s Lil Farm BD Meggie, was the 2021 ADGA Nation Best Udder, amongst many other accomplishments). We had been in contact for many months and Cade reached out to me when he had a buckling available sired by Belle-Fiorello, out of his up-and-coming doe, Cade’s Lil Farm AL Mystic Mae. When I saw a picture of Mae I was floored by how much she looked like NC PromisedLand BW Echo 2 (Dam of SG NC PromisedLand Nemesis VEEE90) and said yes. We are SO excited that little Rune is here! Not yet two months old as of this writing, he is already displaying great depth of body and width and levelness thurl to thurl. He’ll be in regular use here fall of 2023!
