We had long hoped to add this lass to our herd and it finally came to pass in the fall of 2019! Marocchino, “Rocci,” is another beautiful daughter from our amazing Java. We love her udder attachments, teat placement and length. She’s a handmilkers dream! This line of does really blossoms on the third and fourth freshenings and boy did Rocci deliver. Bred to Sweet Potato Pi as a third freshener, she kidded quadruplets and is displaying outstanding fore and rear udder attachments, weighing in 5lbs of milk on her first month’s test. She is everything we expect of a Java daughter! When we saw her third fresh udder it was clear that THIS was Rocci’s year and we were lucky enough to attend the ONE show in 2020 where Rocci won Grand Champion, Best of Breed and even won the Champion Challenge. The judge couldn’t say enough nice things about Rocci, so I’ve transcribed her words from the showring below. One aspect of Rocci not to be overlooked is the strength of her daughters! In August 2021 two of her daughters made headlines on the ELITE list (Oak Apple Valerie and Twin Pears Sweet Marimekko) and every daughter has a beautifully attached udder with lovely teats and teat placement. It’s lovely when you have an outstanding doe who outdoes herself in her offspring!

“Our first place doe, she’s in a class by herself when it comes to rear udder and height of rear udder…it just jumps out, it’s way out there, and there’s even room to spare!…same with foreudder, lots of fullness, smooth attachments, no movement in that foreudder at all. Her udder gives her a wholelotta points…she excels the class by the same degree if you get a chance to feel her ribs, you will feel a huge difference, she has a flat flinty bone, dairy bone…you put your hands on her and her skin is really thin, she really feels good, lots of width between the ribs, angles towards the flank, this doe just oozes dairy strength.” -Diane Heaney, ADGA Judge Aug 21, 2020.
